5-MINUTE Routines THAT Inspire A HAPPIER LIFE

 

Happiness is a state of mind. Everyone has a distinct definition of what it means to have a rewarding life. There are some behaviours that you may adopt into your everyday life that are universal in terms of enhancing your degree of happiness. We’ve developed a list of five-minute routines that will help you live your best life.

Morning to-dos

MAKE YOUR BED

We know you’ve heard it before, but making your bed in the morning provides you a sense of success at the start of your day. For us, it’s the small successes that count.

SQUAD CHECK

Remind yourself to check up on your pals. Send a hilarious meme or text “I miss you, let’s catch up soon.” It doesn’t take much to let someone know you’re thinking about them. This mindfulness exercise will not only keep you up to speed with your close circle, but it will also allow you to vent and banter back and forth during the conversation. It’s a terrific method to share your ups and downs while also holding yourself accountable. If you don’t have time in the morning, you may store this one for later in the day.

AFFIRMATIONS

In your Law of Attraction Journal, write down “I am” affirmations. Say aloud what you wrote after each affirmation. You are slowing down your ideas, focusing on one at a time, and processing what you say differently by doing so. It’s almost as if you’re activating your affirmation in your mind, leaving you psychologically prepared for the things you need to complete to attain that affirmation and see it appear in your life!

ESSENTIAL OILS

Turn on your diffuser and take a deep breath of your favourite essential oil. Fun fact: the scent of lavender will help you start the day stress-free, whilst the scent of rosemary will enhance your memory for the day.

FIVE-MINUTE STRETCH AND TONE

We’ve already discussed the necessity of adding a five-minute sweat session. This will leave you feeling powerful and confident. Don’t forget to express gratitude to your body for all that it accomplishes for you.

 

Midday to-dos

DANCE FOR A BIT

We know what you’re going to do when Ciara says, “This beat is automatic, supersonic, hypnotic, funky fresh (ha),” Dancing is easy if you let go of all your inhibitions. OK, so it’s not quite as difficult as the one-two step, but you get the idea!

DAYDREAM AND DOODLE

Get lost in a fantasy to reconnect with your inner kid. Doodle in a notepad while doing this, and you’ll be transported back to middle school.

MUSIC

Listen to a music that inspires or motivates you. Insider tip: keep an eye out for a new Poosh playlist to arrive just in time for your Labor Day festivities.

Physically discharge the stress you’re carrying in your thoughts.

SCHEDULE AN AT-HOME SKINCARE SESSION

CALL A FAMILY MEMBER

Reaching out to family members you haven’t spoken to in a long time may be immensely reassuring. Catch them up on what you’ve been up to, and vice versa.
