Home Reorganisation and Redecoration Tips You Can Do Today

Like most of you, we’ve also found ourselves spending more time at home. And as you can see from Luoana’s Working From Home Tips, we’ve had no issues settling in thanks mostly to how we’ve set up our home office. Indeed, there’s no better way to get back into the groove of things than a little reorganising and redecorating. This is why we’ve put together some tips that you can start with today:

Fix Your Cords

Let’s start with that home office of yours. One of the biggest nuisances in any office is the multitude of unruly cords that stick out of your multiple devices. And while most tech companies are slowly trying to shift to cordless technology, you’ll still have to deal with the cords in the meantime.

So how do you go about doing this? Well, a quick and easy solution would be to use binder clips. Attach the clip on a flat surface where you want all your cords to be. From there, all you have to do is get the cord, whether it be from a phone or a computer, and thread it through the clip. Add as many or as little binder clips as you need, as this part will vary depending on the size of the cords and the clips.

Ensure That Your Utilities Are in Order

In the spirit of being organised, another thing you can do is ensure that your utilities, such as your boiler, are working as they should. With the Office of National Statistics putting maintenance and repair costs at around 11% of annual household spending, there’s truly no better time than today to do this. Check for any leaks and whether your energy bill for the past few months were unusually high (a tell-tale sign that something is wrong). Now is also a good time to be organised and check your boiler coverage as well. HomeServe highlights how gas boiler insurance policies come with a free service, which means you can get it professionally checked to find any faults you didn’t know existed. The sooner you do this, the better, as leaks and the like can damage your property, ruining any other efforts you’ve made when it comes to reorganisation or redecoration.

Reorganise Your Bookshelf

Let’s go on to something a little more fun. You’d be surprised how much a well-organised bookshelf can do to help improve the overall aesthetics of your space. This is especially true considering how well designed books are nowadays, allowing them to almost function as pieces of art.

Red Online details how arranging your books by colour could deliver maximum impact, immediately brightening up the space. You can amplify this even more by alternating white or neutral sections of your shelf with a pop of colour. Remember to only use this as a guide because at the end of the day, applying your personal touch will make a world of difference and leave you more satisfied than just strictly emulating something someone else has done.

Add a Little Greenery

Lastly, one great way to liven up your interiors is by adding a little greenery. House plants can open up your space and add life to the stuffiness of the indoors.

However, one thing you have to keep in mind is that these plants are more than just decoration. They’re something you’ll have to take care of constantly. The BBC claims houseplants differ when it comes to the amount of water that they need and sunlight that they require, so be sure to read up on your chosen plant before ordering it online.
