Easy Ways to PRIORITISE SELF-CARE

As we grow engrossed in the daily grind, we all too often forget to pause and take some time for ourselves. This might be anything that helps you feel better about yourself and makes you happier, such as giving longer hugs or getting up 20 minutes earlier. Below are 15 cost-effective techniques for prioritising your personal well-being.

Simple measures to prioritising self-care include:

  • Bath with Epsom salts and lavender essential oil.
  • Say no to things that you truly do not wish to do.
  • Awake 20 minutes early and prepare your breakfast.
  • Do something kind for someone else (even a simple “hello, how are you?” SMS might help).
  • Take a day for your mental wellness.

  • Apply a face mask or do an at-home facial massage.
  • Connect with friends—it only takes a phone call or text message to start a strong discussion full of laughter, which is an instant way to release endorphins.
  • Perform an at-home manicure and pedicure.
  • Go for a stroll or run in nature (even if it’s only around the corner).
  • If you have a gym membership or pay for ClassPass, don’t let it go to waste. Reserve your preferred class.
  • At home, try 20 minutes of yoga.

  • Unplug and turn off all notifications as you read a chapter or two of your favourite book or watch a show you’ve been meaning to see.
